WELCOME
Thank you for your interest in C.P.R. Custom Rods where your new fishing rod will be built from the blank up to your exact specification using only the highest quality materials and components. C.P.R. is short for the mantra Catch. Photo. Release. which is indicative of my strong commitment to fishery conservation.
C.P.R. Customs are...
For many "Custom Fishing Rod" conjures up thoughts of fancy sticks complete with ornate thread work, feather inlays, and exotic wood handles that seem to be designed as pieces of art rather than highly technical tools. Those beliefs are well justified as many custom rod builders do tend be very creative and create rods that look as if they should be framed on a wall rather than slung in a the rod holder of your boat. Here at C.P.R. Customs we believe fishing rods are well, just that, fishing rods. They are tools to be used and if your going to spend your hard earned money for one you shouldn't feel bad about laying it on the floor of your boat or storing it in the corner of your garage.
C.P.R. Custom Rods are designed around two guiding principles: (1) CRAFTSMANSHIP and (2)INVESTING IN PERFORMANCE OVER LABOR. It takes a lot of time to make those "wall hanger" rods looks so good. Time your paying for. I believe that your money should be put towards buying the absolute best materials your can afford not paying me for 10 hours of custom thread work or the time to build handle grips out of some exotic African wood. Also, everything that gets attached to that graphite blank only works to hamper it's sensitivity and adds action killing weight. C.P.R. Custom Rods are designed to maximize the technical aspects of the materials used and keep your rod as lightweight and sensitive as possible. I describe my rods as "Simple Elegance" in that they are a simple design of the highest quality materials and craftsmanship
It's Your Rod
One of the most frequently asked question presented to a Custom Builders is "What brand components do you use?. My answer is "Your the customer, what brand do you want me to use?". I certainly have brands that I prefer due to their inherent quality and ease of use but I'll build your rod using the materials you chose. I feel that the custom builder should be a consultant more than a salesman. I'll guide you in choosing the components that are going to create the absolute best rod for your style of fishing, not based on what components are going to put the most money in my wallet.
Price?
Well, that's completely up to you. Since C.P.R Customs are built from the blank up using the components of your choice a price can't be calculated until your rod is designed. Some rod builders declare prices on their sites and then try to use the most inexpensive components they can to maximize their profits within that budget. Your C.P.R. rod will be built using the best components we can utilize for the dollar amount your willing to spend.
